Kalama Small Boat Race

We welcome all small boat paddlers to the 3rd Winter Series Race 2025!

Location: Rasmussen Park, Port of Kalama, Kalama, WA 98625

Registration: Pre-registration through Friday February 7th at 10:00 pm. Registration onsite February
8th from 8:00 – 10:00 am. Click here to register.

Fee: $30 includes racing, bowl of chili, insurance coverage. Payment options are cash, check (made
out to Mountain Home Canoe Club), or Venmo (account information provided at onsite registration)

Race Day Schedule:
8:00 – 10:00 Onsite registration/Canoe Numbers
10:00 – 10:30 Safety Meeting (all paddlers)
11:00 – 1:00 Race 6.2 mile course
1:00 Lunch (Chili) and awards ceremony
2:30 Take down, clean-up

Race course: The race starts at the park and continues in a loop around Sandy Island with a turnaround
close to Deer Island beach and finishes eastbound at the park.

Insurance: Insurance is provided by PaddleSports Risk Management, LLC. The race will follow PNWORCA
race rules, regulations, and safety procedures (see Race Rules)

All paddlers must complete the event waiver to enter the race.

Safety: All small boat paddlers must wear a US Coast Guard approved PFD, have a whistle and a leash. High
visibility clothing recommended. Safety boats will assist but not responsible for paddlers, boats, or equipment

A waterway Access permit is required for all non-motorized boats 10 feet and longer

Take Exit 27 on Interstate 5 in WA, follow directions to the park. Parking lots and beach parking
